Large Mixing Bowl
Ingredients3 Large Onions
2 Large Eggs
150g/6oz Plain Flour
1 tsp Ground Coriander
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tsp Turmeric
Juice Of Half A Lime
2 Litres Sunflower Oil
(for Deep Frying)
MethodStart heating the oil on medium/high heat in the saucepan or fryer.
Break the eggs into the large mixing bowl.
Peel the onions.
Slice the onions thinly into rings
Separate the rings into the eggs.
Add rest of the ingredients and mix thorougly until the onions are coated.
Test the heated oil by putting a little bit of onion in it.
If it floats to the top straightaway the oil is ready to cook in.
Using both hands make little balls with the onion mixture.
After making each ball gently drop each one into the hot oil.
Occasionally turn the bhajis so they cook evenly.
When golden brown all over, drain on kitchen paper and serve with salad and garnishes.
